FAQs

How do I know the stats and quotes are accurate?

Breefing is more of a highlighter, not an oracle. But here’s how it breasks down: Stats are lifted as stated in the article. Claims reflect what the article asserts, but are not facts or quotes. Quotes are pulled verbatim from the article. Definitions reflect how the article uses each term, so may differ from a dictionary definition.

Can’t I just ask ChatGPT to summarise an article for me?

You can. But you’ll get a different answer depending on how you phrase the prompt, and nothing to send anyone afterwards. Paste a URL here and you get the same structure every time (stats, claims, quotes, definitions) plus a permanent link you can bookmark or share, not a chat that vanishes.

Doesn’t this mean I skipped reading the article?

That’s not our intention. There’s no long summary here. You do get a short, jargon-free, almost ELI5 summary, which only gives you a quick grasp of the content. If it's still interesting, you’ll still read it. The main purpose of Breefing is to surface the quotable bits you’ll need when you’re writing, so you’re not hunting for that one stat twenty minutes later.

What happens if I need it again next week?

It’s not a one-shot trick. Every result gets its own permanent page, so the link you generate today still works whenever you come back to it.

What if Breefing can’t or won’t read an article?

If there’s any reason your link isn’t usable (paywall, login wall, non-suitable content) then it says so. We’d rather tell you it won’t work than charge you, or hand you a made-up answer.
